Snowy Mountains in Winter
Here are some winter holiday photos of the Snowy Mountains of Australia. Most were taken while hiking on snowshoes through the back-country near Thredbo, mostly in the Ramshead Range. They only show a small part of Australia's alpine landscapes, but reveal how much some parts of the country contrast with the perception of Australia being a hot, dry and flat land (which it largely is).
